Trusted Childcare for Families on Vacation VacaySitter™
Availability Disclosure: While we make every effort to match your family with a sitter on your requested date, availability is not guaranteed.
Our sitters often book out 2–3 months in advance (even earlier for weddings and special events), so submitting your request as early as possible greatly increases the chance of securing your preferred date.
Please understand that even with advance notice, we cannot promise a sitter will be available.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
For safety reasons, we’re unable to provide care for children who are ill. Please contact us to reschedule if your child isn’t feeling well.
We understand that vacation plans can change. Please know that booking fees are non‑refundable, even with advance notice. However, if you need to cancel, we kindly ask that you let us know at least 48 hours before your scheduled sitter time. This courtesy allows us to respect our sitters’ time and give them a chance to adjust their plans.
Yes. If you arrive after your scheduled end time, a late fee will be charged and you will also be responsible for paying the sitter for the additional time worked. This ensures our sitters are fairly compensated for staying beyond their agreed schedule.
No, We currently provide care only in private vacation homes, condos, and Airbnb/VRBO rentals. Hotel room bookings are not available through VacaySitter.
When you book, we securely collect a credit card number on file to hold for any excess charges such as late fees or unpaid sitter wages. Your non‑refundable booking fee is collected separately through Venmo or Zelle at the time of booking. (To keep things simple, these are our only two booking fee options right now.) On the day of your reservation, you’ll pay your sitter directly for their time. Payment can be made in cash or via a digital method the sitter prefers—such as Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Cash App. Important: If the sitter is not paid within 12 hours of leaving the job, your credit card on file will be charged for the amount owed plus a 3% processing fee.
Absolutely! Please include any medical details, allergies, special or behavioral needs in your booking request. This helps us match your family with the most qualified sitter and ensures your child’s safety and comfort.
Booking is easy! Just fill out our inquiry form with details about your stay, your children, and care needs. We'll share the request with qualified sitters in your chosen area. Once matched, you'll receive confirmation and next steps
Our sitters are carefully selected local professionals with verified childcare experience. Every sitter is: • CPR‑certified • Background‑checked • A non‑smoker • Subject to random drug screenings • Personally interviewed and reference‑checked before joining our team Our network includes trusted individuals such as teachers, retired teachers, daycare workers, nurses who love children, and college students pursuing early childhood or education degrees. Each sitter is chosen not only for experience but also for their reliability, professionalism, and warm personality. For privacy and security, we do not post full names or photos online. Once we confirm a sitter is available, you’ll receive her first name, a clear headshot, a full‑body photo, and a short bio highlighting her experience and background—so you can feel completely comfortable before paying the booking fee and when welcoming her into your vacation rental or home.
Your family’s safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. If you ever have concerns when a sitter arrives, such as appearing unwell, smelling of smoke, or anything that makes you uncomfortable. Please contact us immediately at 1-725-BABYSIT (222-9748) (call, text, or email us at vacaysitter@gmail.com) and we will respond as quickly as possible. You always have the right to turn a sitter away if something feels off. Simply let us know what happened, and we will step in to address the situation and work with you on next steps, including any applicable refunds. Situations like this are extremely rare because we carefully screen every sitter, but we want you to know we’re here for you if any concerns arise.
If your vacation group has a large number of children, such as multiple families staying together in one home, you can request more than one sitter. Just note this in the Special Requests box on the “Book a Sitter for Your Vacation” form.
We also personally review every request. If a booking lists many children (especially infants or toddlers) and it looks like more than one sitter is needed for safety and comfort, we’ll reach out to you directly to make sure the right number of sitters is arranged. Our goal is to keep all children safe and to ensure our sitters feel supported, so we’ll work with you to create the best plan for your group.
VacaySitter reserves the right to assign more than one sitter based on the number and ages of children in your group and any specific needs noted in your request. For example, even if there are only five children, if several are under age three or if there are special considerations, such as food allergies, medical needs, or behavioral concerns; we may determine that two sitters are necessary to keep everyone safe and well cared for. Our priority is always the safety of the children and the comfort of our sitters. If your group requires more than one sitter, we’ll discuss this with you after reviewing your booking request.
Our sitters are hired only to care for children 12 and under. If older teens will also be present in the home during the booking, we require that you inform us in advance. For everyone’s protection, our sitters are not responsible for supervising or monitoring teens (ages 13–17). Teens are considered under your parental supervision and liability. If your group includes teens, we may ask that they have other plans or activities during the sitter’s scheduled time, or we may decline the booking if we feel the situation could place our sitter in a difficult position of liability.
No, For safety and liability reasons, VacaySitter™ sitters do not transport children. However, our sitters are happy to accompany families on walks, at the beach, pool, or local attractions within walking distance. Your sitter will provide active supervision and ensure your little ones stay safe and entertained wherever you go.
